For our birthday’s last year, we went to a place in Landgraaf, The Netherlands called ‘Mondo Verde’ (or ‘Green World’). The place displays breath taking statues of mythological creatures, giants and heroes as well as an array of luscious green gardens from notable places all over the world.

With plants, animals, statues and architecture exact to it’s country’s origin it was a real delight to spend time with the family and take many photos. These are two photos of the many taken from the Japanese portion of the enormous park. The lovely looking geisha statue was in the middle of a pond of colourful and elaborate Koi.

If you’re ever in the Netherlands, skip everything the tourist books tell you and go to Mondo Verde. There is an unspoken beauty and elegance to it.
